Sierra's Frame

This one is for Sierra (though, I keep forgetting to give it to her!). So far the colors on this one are my favorite. The frame is a brighter purple than it looks in the picture here. Miss Sierra has a purple bathroom off her orange and yellow room; a painting with flowers similar to the little do-dads on this frame was the inspiration for the theme in her room, so I wanted to work that in. I am irked everytime I see "play" but that's just cause I wanted it to say "bloom" instead. Everyone else seems to think "play" is AOK.

Gideon's Frame

I made this one for the last of the "Round #2" kids -- Gideon. At the time, we didn't know if baby Colliver was going to be a girl or a boy so I tried to keep it neutral and stick with the blue and green Lauren chose for the kids' room.

Beachy

I made this one for a friend who loves the beach, but once I saw her kid's room, it didn't quite go. I eventually donated it for my mom's "Homewreckers" (i.e. Homemakers Society) holiday raffle. It brought top dollar ($6, I think woohoo!) though, admittedly, the competition was limited to things such as a re-gifted crystal dolphin pen holder. I do get a warm fuzzy knowing that somewhere there's a homewrecker eating a cheap appetizer on me.

Hunter's frame

I wish I had a better picture of this one. I made this frame as a 1st birthday present for my friend Amby's son Hunter. The metal accents are scrapbooking do-dads I affixed with recycled upholstery tacks. I really like the mixed textures of the metals. Makes me think about trying to use some real "found objects" in the future.

Amazing Grace

This was my 1st attempt at crafting a frame. It was meant as a gift for my friend Joy whose baby girl Grace was born in 2005. The colors were chosen to match their old-time Pooh wall border that had a sage green color. I've never been too good with letters, so I'm not thrilled with how the lettering came out, but I wanted to attempt free-handing it instead of using a template.

Crafty Bastard

Last weekend Jess suggested again that I try and sell my crafts on the side. I've always thought about it but since Liz went out on her own with a party-planning gig (Cookies to Cocktails) I've been inspired to actually get off my duff and see what I can do. That, and it would be nice to have some cash on the side. Seems the first thing I need would be some sort of portfolio so I'm going to try and upload some recent examples of my work here on my barely used blog. It'll be a smattering of different things; hopefully some of it will be marketable =)
